Game of Thrones – Season 7 – Summary

Daenerys Targaryen arrives at Dragonstone, reclaiming her family’s stronghold as she prepares her invasion of Westeros. Jon Snow, declared King in the North, learns of dragonglass beneath Dragonstone and decides to seek an alliance with Daenerys despite Sansa’s warnings. Arya Stark takes revenge on House Frey by poisoning Walder and his sons, wiping out their line.

Cersei strengthens her hold on the Iron Throne, forming an alliance with Euron Greyjoy, who destroys Yara’s fleet and captures Ellaria Sand. Theon barely escapes, haunted by his past failures. Meanwhile, Daenerys’ forces attack Casterly Rock, only to find it a hollow victory—Jaime has already taken Highgarden, securing the Tyrell gold. Olenna Tyrell, before dying, admits to poisoning Joffrey and urges Jaime to tell Cersei.

Jon arrives at Dragonstone, but Daenerys demands his loyalty before offering aid. Despite their disagreements, Tyrion arranges for Jon to mine the dragonglass. In a daring battle, Daenerys and her Dothraki ambush the Lannister army, with Drogon wreaking havoc. Jaime charges at Daenerys but is saved at the last moment by Bronn.

At Winterfell, tensions rise as Littlefinger sows discord between Sansa and Arya. Bran returns, now the emotionless Three-Eyed Raven, and gives Arya the Valyrian steel dagger once meant to kill him. Jon and his companions venture beyond the Wall to capture a wight as proof of the White Walker threat. After a brutal fight, they are trapped on a frozen lake until Daenerys rescues them, losing Viserion in the process.

The Night King reanimates Viserion as an ice dragon, giving the dead a devastating weapon. Jon and Daenerys grow closer, and he pledges to stand with her despite not bending the knee. At a meeting in King’s Landing, Cersei pretends to ally with them against the dead but secretly plots with Euron to betray them. As Jon and Daenerys sail north, they finally give in to their attraction—unaware they are aunt and nephew. Meanwhile, the Army of the Dead marches toward the Wall, and the reanimated Viserion blasts it apart with blue fire, signaling the beginning of the Great War.
