Descendants of the Sun is a 2016 South Korean romantic drama television series starring Song Joong-ki, Song Hye-kyo, Jin Goo, and Kim Ji-won. It tells the love story between Captain Yoo Si-jin (Song Joong-ki), a South Korean special forces officer, and Dr. Kang Mo-yeon (Song Hye-kyo), a surgeon.
The two first meet when Si-jin and his team apprehend a motorcycle thief who is being treated at the hospital where Mo-yeon works.
